Ric Holden is a rancher and former State Senator from Dawson County. Ric and his
wife Jan have been married for 41 years, they have 3 children, and have been actively
operating the family ranch for the past 33 years.
Ric is a member of many Montana farm organizations, including the Montana
Stockgrowers, Montana Farm Bureau, and Montana Woolgrowers Association. He is
also a member of the Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, as well as the
National Rifle Association.
While in the state senate, Ric received legislative A ratings from all of these
organizations. He served as the Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee and
Vice Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. He also served as chairman
on the special select water rights committee.
He is a graduate of Montana State University- Bozeman, with a degree in Business
Management, and a double minor, in Business Finance and Business Marketing. Ric
served in the US Air Force Reserved Officer Training Corps while attending college.
